Before joining Willis in 2019 Fernando held various leadership and senior roles in the ICT market with focus on cybersecurity and real-time management in the manufacturing and critical infrastructure sectors. He served as Director of Technology, Director of Strategy&Solutions, Business Development Manager or Senior Consultant in companies such as Logitek, CGI or Wonderware/Invensys. Fernando has a broad background in cyber risk assessment and management, and in related risk mitigation and transference techniques. He co-created one of the first specific risk assessment methodologies for Industrial Control Systems that has resulted in many successful use cases, technical publications and in a national prize.
Fernando holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Management from CUNEF (Universidad Complutense de Madrid) and a Master Degree in Marketing and Business Communication Management and Research. He has also a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.
He is currently the Head of Cyber Risk Consulting at Willis Towers Watson. In addition to his professional life, he usually collaborates with different business schools and universities as invited professor in the areas of cybersecurity and cyber risk management. He is a co-author of the books, “Dirección de seguridad y gestion del ciberriesgo” pending to be published during June 2020 and “Cloud Computing: Technology and Business”. Furthermore he is actively involved in research with the Cybersecurity Cluster of the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, with which he has published around 5 international and 15 national papers.
